Understanding and searching for long-term care can be difficult and emotional. Whether you’re looking for a home for your loved one or for yourself, it can often be met with guilt, second-guessing, and frustration. At Tea and Toast, we get the pain and confusion that comes with this decision and are here to help.
At Tea and Toast, our retirement living advisors will work with you to navigate the industry, finding a home that best fits you (or your loved one’s) needs.
Also known as “homes for the aged” or “nursing homes,” LTC homes are subsidized residential homes that typically provide higher levels of personal care and support than what may be provided in a retirement home. These types of homes are for people who cannot live independently, and who need 24-hour nursing care and supervision within a secure setting. In Ontario, all admissions to long-term care homes are coordinated through the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).
In Ottawa, there are 250 designated beds for qualified Veterans at The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. For more information on the admission process, call Veterans Affairs Canada at 1-866-522-2122. or click here.
